Part 1 — Discovery
Completed by finder; biologist reviews on arrival
Cease all work within 50 ft of the turtle. Turn off equipment in the vicinity. Maintain at least 25 ft separation from the animal. Do not attempt to move the turtle. Notify the designated point contact immediately.

Part 2 — Biologist Assessment & Relocation

Per the management plan, the biologist will confirm identification, photograph the animal, collect GPS coordinates, and relocate to suitable habitat ≥100 ft outside the project area / silt fence. Never leave a captured animal in the sun.

Per management plan, photos should include top (dorsal), side (lateral), underside (plastron), and an object for scale. Check each angle captured.
Relocation
Temporary holding details
Animals must be relocated within 24 hours. Never leave in sun. Use a 5-gallon bucket with shallow water and leaf cover. Label bucket with contact name and phone.
